About the position

Sanctuary Medicinals in Sarasota, FL is seeking an Assistant General Manager (AGM) for our Cannabis Dispensary. The ideal candidate will be attentive, motivated, and engaged, with a strong focus on creating an environment that delights both patients and the team. The AGM will play a crucial role in supporting the General Manager (GM) by assisting in the hiring, training, and development of all Medical Marijuana Treatment Center (MMTC) personnel. This position requires bold decision-making and leadership skills that align with the company's vision. In the absence of the GM, the AGM will take on the responsibilities of acting leader of the store. The AGM will be responsible for maintaining the operations and profitability of the MMTC in Florida, while also supporting the GM in achieving sales estimates and revenue projections. This role involves ensuring operational excellence through effective inventory and labor controls, serving as a Brand Ambassador for the Sanctuary brand, and ensuring compliance with company and industry regulations. The AGM will also help manage budgets, monitor P&L reports, and address any operational issues that arise, all while ensuring that customer service levels remain consistently excellent. The AGM will celebrate and recognize successful moments daily, ensuring that marketing efforts and displays are consistent within the location. This position requires familiarity with all tasks and duties of the GM, and the AGM will make recommendations to the GM as needed. The role is vital in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that the location operates within its budget while meeting safety and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the recruiting, developing, and terminating of MODs and MMTC Associates.
  • Ensuring operational excellence through inventory and labor controls.
  • Serving as a Brand Ambassador for the Sanctuary brand and customer service.
  • Celebrating and recognizing successful moments daily.
  • Ensuring marketing efforts and displays are consistent in the location.
  • Helping attain location goals such as sales estimates and revenue projections.
  • Ensuring compliance with company and industry regulations.
  • Maintaining safety and cleanliness standards at the location.
  • Managing a budget and ensuring the location operates within that budget.
  • Monitoring P&L reports, managing payroll, and overhead costs.
  • Addressing operational problems and appraising the GM.
  • Ensuring excellent customer service levels at the location.
  • Becoming familiar with all tasks and duties of the General Manager.
  • Making recommendations to the GM when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four-year college/university preferred.
  • 2 years of retail management experience in a high-volume retail sales environment or equivalent combination of education.
  • Quantitative aptitude and experience managing budgets.
  • Leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Must pass all required background and fingerprint checks.
