About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Capital Plaza plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager (GM) in achieving the restaurant's objectives while aligning with Frisch's vision of being an outstanding workplace, dining venue, and business. This position is integral to staff training and development, cost management, inventory ordering, and assisting in financial planning. The AGM embodies Frisch's culture, demonstrating pride in the brand and preparing for potential advancement to a GM position. The AGM is expected to create a supportive environment for both employees and customers, ensuring that the restaurant operates smoothly and efficiently. In this role, the AGM will collaborate closely with the GM to gain the necessary skills for GM responsibilities during their absence. This includes overseeing restaurant operations to ensure product availability and cash control, assisting in financial forecasting, scheduling, and budgeting, and offering strategies for sales growth, cost control, and waste reduction. The AGM will also support staffing processes, including hiring, firing, and staff development, while mentoring and guiding restaurant managers in training and development practices. Adherence to all restaurant policies, safety, security, and maintenance protocols is essential, as is managing merit increases, pay adjustments, and disciplinary actions for staff. Overall, the AGM is a leadership position that requires a strong commitment to the restaurant's success and a dedication to fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the GM to gain necessary skills for GM responsibilities during their absence.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or 6 months of management experience in the restaurant industry, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred or able to obtain certification prior to completion of training.
  • Proficiency in English with strong communication skills.
  • Skilled in training, motivating, evaluating, coaching, delegating, and supervising.
  • Ability to accurately follow recipes, with strong math and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks, managing stress, and handling customer issues professionally.

Benefits

  • Pay range of $17.50 to $20.00
