About the position

The Assistant General Manager at Grupo Contramar Fontainebleau Las Vegas is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that quality, service, and cleanliness meet the division's standards. This role involves managing staff, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and ensuring guest satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution. The Assistant General Manager will also handle financial oversight, staff training, and operational efficiency to contribute to the overall success of the venue.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations ensuring quality, service, and cleanliness meet standards.
  • Respond quickly and positively to guests' questions, requests, problems, and complaints.
  • Assist with supervision of staff and ensure adherence to procedures and policies.
  • Maintain knowledge of the resort and provide proactive assistance to guests.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and assist in emergency procedures.
  • Review finances to meet budget guidelines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Estimate beverage and operational supply needs and requisition accordingly.
  • Provide ongoing training to staff and ensure understanding of menus and service standards.
  • Inspect dining room and food areas to ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure the venue is ready for service each day with adequate staff and supplies.
  • Review financial information and monitor budget to ensure efficient operation.
  • Communicate effectively with management and culinary staff to address guest needs.
  • Conduct weekly checks on furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and manage staff to ensure excellent service and productivity.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three or more years of prior food and beverage management experience, preferably in a luxury setting.
  • Food Handler's Certificate for managers required.
  • Strong communication skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Complete knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to execute guidelines for proper staffing to maximize efficiency and minimize labor costs.
  • Strong overall knowledge of menu preparation and presentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests and staff.
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction to contribute to organizational success.
