About the position

The Assistant General Manager position at Enmark Stations, Inc. is designed to support the General Manager in achieving operational, sales, and profitability objectives while ensuring customer satisfaction through effective staff management and adherence to company policies. This role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and fostering a positive customer service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding service to customers and serve as a role model for employees.
  • Monitor all areas of the property to maintain safety, cleanliness, and service standards.
  • Perform all duties of a sales associate as appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety concerns and provide a safe environment.
  • Assist the manager in training, developing, and coaching employees.
  • Help meet weekly and monthly performance goals set by the Operations Team.
  • Complete assigned store tasks and activities to meet company standards.
  • Assist the General Manager in managing employee activities and duties.
  • Execute marketing and promotional programs on time.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and laws regarding alcohol and tobacco sales.
  • Help set work schedules within the labor budget.
  • Train employees to provide high levels of customer service.
  • Contribute to performance reviews of employees.
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain the station to the enmarket Standards of Excellence.
  • Promote sales and build profits through excellent customer service and well-stocked environments.
  • Complete daily and scheduled reports accurately and make deposits as required.
  • Learn to accurately complete orders for inventory management.
  • Handle and account for all money and inventory accurately.
  • Assist in counting cigarettes and investigating shortages.
  • Follow vendor check-in procedures and resolve vendor issues professionally.
  • Adhere to money handling policies and procedures.
  • Understand credit card and check processing procedures.
  • Respond to pricing policies in a timely manner.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and laws.
  • Lift inventory weighing up to 40 pounds and perform basic math functions.
  • Maintain and develop management and interpersonal skills.
  • Provide leadership reflective of the company mission.

Requirements

  • Experience in retail management or a similar role.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to lead by example.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and cash control procedures.
  • Ability to handle money accurately and follow financial policies.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
  • Basic math skills and understanding of retail operations.
