About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the restaurant, serving as a key contact for customers and team members. The AGM trains, supervises, and directs kitchen and service team members, ensuring excellent service and a high-quality dining experience. This role requires effective communication and decision-making skills to address customer needs and manage restaurant operations efficiently, while also adhering to budgetary and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, supervise and direct all hourly employees including their daily activities, work assignments, and time off requests.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and provide coaching, corrective discipline, and counseling to team members as necessary.
  • Observe kitchen operations and address any issues promptly.
  • Direct work for employees including setting hours, weekly schedules, and assigning tasks.
  • Drive sales and guest satisfaction; manage food costs, inventory levels, utility usage, and Health Department ratings.
  • Ensure food quality by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of food products.
  • Execute the CHARM Service Model with every guest by all team members.
  • Provide and schedule Front of House and Back of House training to ensure team members are knowledgeable about policies and procedures.
  • Supervise food and beverage production in accordance with established recipes and procedures.
  • Resolve guest recovery situations using discretion.
  • Follow the Operations Playbook for consistent daily operations and take action when staff fail to comply.
  • Utilize a digital manager logbook for communication with the management team regarding shift notes and staffing.
  • Enforce security measures to maintain safety for employees and guests.
  • Control costs of food, supplies, and liquor expenses, conducting weekly inventory and making recommendations.
  • Practice safe food handling procedures and enforce them among staff members.
  • Adhere to company policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good repair and manage repairs as necessary.
  • Manage processes including line checks, food inventory, and safety procedures.
  • Coach team to ensure food and beverages meet Ruby Tuesday specifications.
  • Maintain valid food safety and local compliance certifications.
  • Execute new initiatives including product and menu rollouts, requiring creativity and initiative.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Prefer 2 years of hands-on restaurant management experience.
  • ServSafe Certified preferred or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Valid Driver's License.
