About the position
The Assistant General Manager - Training/Rules/Compliance/Safety at Alstom is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and developing comprehensive training programs for employees. This role involves collaboration with various teams to enhance safety and training initiatives within the organization, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of operations in the rail industry.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the Authority's System Safety Plan (SSP) and FRA Part 270, along with other safety-related requirements.
- Participate in safety audits, committees, and emergency response drills, and report on unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Design, develop, and implement training programs that meet federal requirements, particularly 49 CFR Part 243.
- Collaborate with different teams to develop annual training scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Conduct training for contractor employees and ensure they have access to the most current rules and requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Transportation or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a similar role, such as Chief Safety Officer within a rail environment.
- Demonstrated accomplishments that enhanced efficiency and reliability in railroad infrastructure maintenance.
- Knowledge of FRA, FTA, CPUC, and other relevant regulations.
