About the position

The Assistant General Manager at Kroger Health & Wellness plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing the operations of a multi-shift pharmacy facility. This position involves providing leadership, coaching, and direction to associates, ensuring the efficient and safe completion of the prescription fill process, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the general manager to model leadership and provide coaching and direction to Central Fill and Postal Prescription Services (PPS) associates.
  • Assist the general manager in all operational activities for the multi-shift pharmacy facility.
  • Plan, organize, manage, and direct daily production operations to ensure timely distribution of prescriptions.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Manage human resources issues for the Central Fill/PPS business.
  • Oversee the Central Fill and PPS workforce to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide input to establish financial goals and manage operations accordingly.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory standards are maintained daily.
  • Direct and coach supervisors regarding daily operations and assist in their professional development.
  • Facilitate the performance feedback process for all hourly operations associates.
  • Coordinate operations scheduling and resolve safety, quality, delivery, costs, and morale issues.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
  • Support the GM with ongoing issues such as maintenance improvements, project implementation, staffing requirements, and training.
  • Serve in a leadership role on the Quality Management Committee and Accuracy Committee.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Project management experience is essential.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of budgets and financials is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed.
  • Team player with demonstrated leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy systems is a plus.
