About the position

As an Assistant General Manager at Panera, you will play a crucial role in leading a team within a popular neighborhood bakery-cafe. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the General Manager in managing overall operations, enhancing customer experiences, and driving profitability. You will also be responsible for coaching and developing your team, ensuring high-quality service, and maintaining Panera's standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Build a culture of Warmth, Belonging, Growth, and Trust.
• Ensure extraordinary guest experiences and build customer relationships.
• Support the General Manager in making key decisions and solving problems.
• Lead, manage, and develop the cafe team.
• Plan and manage staffing needs and shift scheduling.
• Hire and train new team members, keeping the team motivated and engaged.
• Manage team performance to meet cafe goals and quality standards.
• Coach managers and associates on responsibilities and delegate tasks accordingly.
• Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements.
• Ensure high-quality operations and service are maintained and improved.
• Motivate the team to meet and exceed cafe goals.
• Adhere to cafe systems and processes for day-to-day operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations.
• Maintain food safety standards and a healthy workplace.
• Execute strategies for sales growth and manage associate labor.

Requirements

• Proven ability to direct, motivate, coach, and develop others in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to drive positive results and run great shifts.
• Demonstrated understanding of the business.
• ServSafe certification required.
• At least 18 years of age.
