About the position

The Assistant General Manager at Transdev plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager by overseeing the daily operations of passenger transit services. This position is responsible for ensuring contract compliance, managing personnel safety, and delivering excellent customer service while also handling financial management aspects of the operations.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic planning and direction to the operations
• Manages contract compliance
• Has shared responsibility for scheduling, performance evaluation, and staffing responsibilities for the management staff of the facility
• Oversees day-to-day operations of the contract, facility, and safety of personnel and passengers
• Handles customer service and financial management aspects of the operations
• Performs other duties as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred
• 5-7 years of supervisory or management level experience in the passenger transportation industry
• Labor relations experience preferred
• Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws
• Thorough knowledge of laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation
• Ability to manage cost control and financial/budget experience handling multiple locations
• Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organization
• Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details
• Ability to work effectively with labor; including labor grievances and negotiations
• Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs
