Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in developing short and long-term financial and operational plans for the guest service department.
  • Facilitate department meetings to ensure effective communication throughout all hotel departments.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual hotel budget.
  • Increase guest satisfaction levels by delivering exceptional service through employee development.
  • Directly oversee hotel operations including guest satisfaction, breakfast service, front desk, housekeeping, and engineering.
  • Meet or exceed budgeted payroll standards in hotel operations departments.
  • Establish and maintain cost control systems for monthly ordering in relation to the checkbook.
  • Review the reservation function to maintain high room occupancy and average daily rates through suggestive selling.
  • Maintain procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and guest security.
  • Respond to and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in hotel operations management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Exceptional mathematical and computer skills.
  • High school education and relevant training and experience required; additional education preferred.
  • Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
  • CPR training required; first aid training preferred.
