About the position

The Assistant General Manager at Planet Fitness is responsible for overseeing all club operations, ensuring that both operational and financial goals are met. This role focuses on creating exceptional member experiences, developing a strong team of staff, and promoting a judgment-free fitness environment. The position emphasizes servant leadership and aims to transform the lives of both members and employees through effective management and support.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational and financial goals are met for the club.
  • Create member experiences that produce Raving Fans.
  • Develop and lead a staff of servant leaders.
  • Work with the General Manager to meet NFP standards regarding club statistics.
  • Partner with the General Manager to decrease club turnover by hiring and developing competent staff.
  • Support staff scheduling to maximize resources while adhering to budget.
  • Hold staff accountable to policies and procedures and provide constructive counseling.
  • Conduct One-on-Ones with staff on time with development goals.
  • Model Servant Leadership through daily interactions and support front desk activities.
  • Address member issues promptly and courteously.
  • Promote a safe and healthy club environment and participate in marketing promotions.

Requirements

  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Management experience through Planet Fitness preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
  • Ability to successfully coach and develop team members.
