About the position

The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the restaurant. This position is focused on ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive work environment, and fostering team development within the hospitality industry, particularly in restaurant management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in daily operations and management of the restaurant.
• Oversee staff training and development to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
• Manage inventory, food preparation, and catering services to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and effective communication among staff.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and promptness.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the restaurant.
• Support in creating schedules and managing staff assignments to meet operational needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager in a similar setting.
• Strong background in training development and staff training practices.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
• At least 1.5 years of experience in an AGM role and multiple years of floor management in similar restaurants.
• Fine-dining, steps of service, high-volume experience (~400+ covers a day).
• Experience leading a full-service restaurant and team to success.
