About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the store in the absence of the General Manager and supporting the General Manager in all aspects of store management. This role involves reviewing business results, planning for improvements, training Customer Service Associates, managing inventory and labor scheduling, and ensuring a safe and exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Review business results and plan for continued improvement.
  • Support the selection and development of Customer Service Associates.
  • Train Customer Service Associates in conjunction with the FBM.
  • Order goods and schedule labor for the store.
  • Manage and oversee all safety processes within the store.
  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience and respond to customer complaints.
  • Execute the corporate training plan for all Customer Service Associates.
  • Supervise daily task assignments and performance for all associates.
  • Plan and prepare work schedules and coordinate daily assignments.
  • Monitor and analyze business processes to achieve store goals.
  • Manage cash and lottery processes.
  • Build relationships with community partners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Leadership experience required, preferably in a food service environment.
  • Flexible availability including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work 35 - 40 hours per week.
  • Experience in selecting, training, and managing staff.
  • Understanding of store finances and their impact on business.
  • Serve Safe Certification.
