About the position

The Assistant General Manager will oversee the Housekeeping and Front Desk Departments, ensuring guest satisfaction and adherence to product quality standards. This role involves managing staff, coordinating operations, and maintaining high service expectations to enhance the overall success of the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Housekeeping and Front Desk Departments.
  • Ensure departments achieve or exceed guest service expectations.
  • Prepare team member schedules in accordance with budgets and business forecasts.
  • Train hotel staff in financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories, and receivables.
  • Recommend local attractions and restaurants for guests to visit.
  • Inform guests of all hotel services and amenities.
  • Assist with check-in/check-out procedures, telephone procedures, hotel amenities, and computer systems.
  • Manage human resources functions including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor daily bookings and coordinate with the front desk team and guests when the hotel is oversold.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate hotel POS and PMS Systems.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement.
  • Effective problem-solving skills in the workplace.
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations.
  • Approachable and readily available for all guests while providing excellent guest service.
