About the position

The Assistant General Manager will lead a retail store team to drive sales, enhance customer experiences, and ensure operational excellence. This role involves coaching sales specialists, managing store operations, and achieving sales targets while creating a positive in-store environment for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Encouraging and leading a sales team to achieve sales targets.
  • Creating outstanding customer experiences in the store.
  • Coaching team members one-on-one to improve performance.
  • Resolving customer issues and assisting with transactions.
  • Setting and sharing daily, weekly, and monthly goals with the sales team.
  • Providing training and mentoring to enhance customer service skills.
  • Identifying skill gaps and implementing development plans for the team.
  • Running store operations, including staffing analysis and financial reporting.
  • Monitoring inventory and maintaining store cleanliness and security.
  • Leading store merchandising and ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Completing store opening and closing activities.
  • Collective responsibility for attaining store targets.

Requirements

  • Background in customer service within retail, restaurant, or wireless industry preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Customer Service or leadership role.
  • Management experience in a commissions-based sales environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving challenging team and individual sales goals.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a multifaceted environment.
  • Experience in setting goals, evaluating performance, and developing a high-performing team.
  • Basic interview skills and enhanced staffing knowledge.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during peak periods.
  • At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
