About the position

The Assistant General Manager at Pret plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing the operational performance of the shop. This position focuses on business growth, team development, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for ensuring that the team is well-trained, motivated, and adheres to the company's production principles, all while promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Support the GM in establishing a robust Family Tree and Plan Bs for each role to meet business needs.
• Assist in-house training, legal compliance training, and graduations according to agreed standards and timelines.
• Promote and nurture a healthy work-life balance for the team.
• Ensure the team understands and follows the Production Principles, prioritizing customer needs and quality.
• Develop the team's knowledge about the quality of food and coffee offered.
• Ensure Barista Prepared Drinks are consistently made by trained employees to the highest standard.
• Maintain compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety Standards to ensure safety for the team and customers.
• Take immediate corrective action on issues affecting customers, the team, or sales.
• Continuously analyze shop results and proactively address challenges to improve business profitability.

Requirements

• 3 or more years of Restaurant Assistant General Manager experience (QSR Experience Preferred).
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
• Experience managing and developing 20+ employees per shift.
• Flexible work availability, working 45-50 hours per week.
• Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50lbs; ability to walk up/down stairs and stand for up to 8-10 hours per day.
