About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in leading a team dedicated to delivering excellent customer experiences and driving revenue growth at CLUB4 Fitness. This position involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with policies, and fostering community partnerships to enhance business relationships and membership sales. The AGM is responsible for achieving financial sustainability and customer satisfaction while mentoring staff and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in the gym.

Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in leading the team and overseeing operations when the General Manager is absent.
  • Ensure a superior customer experience and promote CLUB4 Fitness within local communities.
  • Achieve targeted results in financial sustainability, customer satisfaction, and revenue performance.
  • Make phone calls to prospective members and manage overall sales numbers at the location.
  • Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members and guests, ensuring staff follow customer service guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Regional Manager to address issues involving employees and members.
  • Monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and organizational standards.
  • Manage inventory and ensure adequate supplies are available in the club.
  • Oversee employee payroll and scheduling to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility and ensure it passes inspections.

Requirements

  • Hard working, goal-oriented, enthusiastic, and energetic.
  • Solid work ethic with strong decision-making skills.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Basic computer, math, and communication skills required.
  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  • Detail and results-oriented with a high degree of professionalism and organizational skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
  • Computer proficient and well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Desire to learn to manage Club operations and maintain responsibilities over personnel in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ability to travel to other clubs as needed.
  • Some supervisory or leadership experience in a high-level customer service industry preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; a 2- or 4-yr degree or four years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must be CPR/AED certified.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the fitness industry is preferred.
  • Additional certifications related to fitness or management.
