About the position

The Assistant General Manager at Original ChopShop is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for both team members and guests, embodying the brand's values and commitment to hospitality. This role involves leading a team in a fast-paced restaurant setting, ensuring high standards of food safety and service, and engaging with the local community to drive sales and enhance guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for creating uncompromising food experiences in a fast, friendly, accurate, and clean environment.
  • Lead each shift with purpose as the values role model and brand ambassador.
  • Proactively build a starting line-up and bench of ChopShop team members who embody the culture and have potential for growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, people-first environment by celebrating team wins and providing consistent feedback.
  • Engage with the local community through marketing and community involvement initiatives.
  • Drive shop sales and financial goals by cultivating team ownership and removing obstacles to success.
  • Forecast shop sales accurately and schedule the team appropriately to enhance guest experiences.
  • Model food safety and security practices, ensuring adherence by all team members.
  • Communicate openly and productively, sharing ideas and finding solutions to improve the shop.
  • Lead exceptional food, service, and facility standards through accountability in both BOH and FOH operations.
  • Address performance and conflict issues swiftly and effectively.
  • Create memorable dining experiences by exceeding guest expectations.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of restaurant management experience; prior kitchen experience is preferred.
  • Strong desire to add value and contribute positively to the team.
  • Ability to seek out new opportunities that impact the well-being of the team, guests, and business.
  • Desire to go the extra mile for guests and team members, demonstrating strong leadership.
  • Understanding of the importance of results and commitment to achieving them.
