About the position

The Assistant General Manager at dnata is responsible for overseeing the overall direction and operations of the station at SFO Airport. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, and fostering relationships with customers and airport authorities. The position is integral to achieving the company's goals and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction in aviation services.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction of the Station.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards employees; addresses complaints and resolves issues.
  • Directs the Station in the accomplishment of Company goals and objectives as defined by our vision/mission and values.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration and operation of the Safety Management System and Learning Management System at the Station level.
  • Consults with authorities and agencies of the Aviation community to formulate strategies for operation and growth for the Station.
  • Maintains and directs a staff of operations managers responsible for the primary business segments of the station.
  • Assists in the procurement, training, and development of employees to improve work performance and maximize employee potential.
  • Promotes, initiates, and conducts good communication with and between departments, groups, and individuals for understanding and accomplishment of the Station's commitment to customers, individuals, and Company.
  • Creates and develops relationships with customers and airport authorities.
  • Regularly interacts with customers to promote the Station and to measure the level of customer satisfaction.
  • Uses customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels are maintained.

Requirements

  • Possess/maintain a valid state driver's license and other FAA/Airport required identification/seals or authorizations.
  • Three to five years aviation ramp and passenger service experience and/or training.
  • Able to establish positive relationships with airline and airport personnel at the airport.
  • Full knowledge of airline ramp service handling procedures, aviation safety and security procedures.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
