About the position

The Assistant General Manager at Beat The Bomb plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager and managing key areas of the business. This position involves overseeing special projects, programming, and ensuring smooth operations while also working shifts as a 'Manager on Duty'. The role is integral to maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency in a fast-paced entertainment environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work up to 3-4 shifts per week as a Manager on Duty, focusing on coaching & training and supporting the General Manager.
  • Lead on weekly scheduling.
  • Manage physical inventory with support from the Operations Manager on procurement.
  • Assist the General Manager in recruiting by participating in interviews.
  • Support the GM in training & onboarding new team members, providing ongoing assessment and feedback.
  • Help build out Beat The Bomb's training program and documentation for future unit openings.
  • Lead on Programming for special events and holidays.
  • Facilitate Arcade Bay testing during opening hours, collaborating with the Game Development team to collect and track feedback.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to improve business performance, focusing on sales generation and cost control.
  • Lead or support additional projects as needed, including space upgrades and process innovation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a management role within the entertainment or hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience in inventory management and scheduling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in event planning or programming.
  • Familiarity with game development or interactive entertainment.
  • Background in training and development.
