About the position

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supervising and managing hotel departments, overseeing hotel operations, and ensuring high levels of service and hospitality for guests. This role involves supporting the General Manager in various operational tasks, including budgeting, staff management, and guest satisfaction initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage hotel departments and oversee hotel operations as directed.
• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates to ensure performance aligns with brand standards.
• Oversee hotel departments to ensure optimal service and hospitality for guests.
• Assist the GM in preparing forecasts and reports, and in developing and monitoring the budget.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores and work towards improving them.
• Resolve customer complaints and anticipate potential problems by reviewing operational issues.
• Oversee property accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, and petty cash.
• Coordinate with corporate accounting for payroll functions and ensure internal audit standards are met.
• Interact with sales staff to discuss and implement sales strategies to improve occupancy and revenues.
• Monitor and maintain front office systems and equipment for optimum performance.
• Serve on the hotel's safety committee and create action plans to remedy guest service deficiencies.
• Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM's EarthView program.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of overall hotel operations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds.
