About the position

Highly Likely Highland Park is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and dedicated Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our team. The AGM will support the General Manager in overseeing both aspects of the business, ensuring smooth, efficient operations, exceptional customer service, and a seamless transition between day and night in a casual counter-service cafe by day and full-service neighborhood joint by night.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and timely service during busy daytime coffee shop hours and dinner service.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, including inventory management and staff scheduling.
• Maintain and enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations.
• Lead, train, and mentor the team, fostering a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
• Supervise baristas and servers to ensure quality service during both daytime and nighttime shifts.
• Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally and efficiently, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Assist in managing the financial aspects of the business, including monitoring sales and managing expenses.
• Support inventory control processes, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining stock levels for both food and beverage.

Requirements

• 2+ years of management experience in fast-paced coffee shop/café environments and fine dining restaurants is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a dual-service environment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
