About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will play a crucial role in managing the daily operations of a multi-temperature warehouse, focusing on safety, compliance, and employee engagement. This position is designed for individuals who aspire to become future leaders in operations management at Martin Brower, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and strategic initiatives. The AGM will also be expected to relocate as necessary for career advancement within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and ensure a safe working environment for all employees in a 24/7 warehouse environment.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the transportation and warehouse management teams.
  • Execute company processes successfully to ensure 100% compliance and meet annual performance goals.
  • Participate in the development of budgets and P&L statements.
  • Present at customer and employee meetings.
  • Foster a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale, and engagement.
  • Ensure quality standards are achieved for all goods shipped and received.
  • Promptly solve problems to the maximum satisfaction of customers.
  • Participate in, contribute to, and potentially lead various committees, such as quality and safety.
  • Be a champion of change and contribute to the strategic direction of facility initiatives.
  • Willingness to relocate throughout the organization for promotional opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or operations related discipline plus at least 7 years of related industry experience with 4 years of people leadership experience OR a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of industry experience and 5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined team player.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound organizational skills, capacity to prioritize and multi-task to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and focus on results.
  • Demonstrate business and financial acumen, experience managing budgets and P&L statements.
  • Professional self-presentation skills, ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Proven track record of developing successful customer/business partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively and respond appropriately.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Willing to relocate as needed to any of Martin Brower locations.
