About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at HMSHost is responsible for supporting the management of restaurant operations at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. This role involves ensuring high operational standards, managing staff, and executing daily procedures to maintain a clean and efficient restaurant environment. The AGM plays a key role in decision-making, staff management, and promoting a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Completes opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures.
• Assists the GM/F&B Multi Unit Manager I in managing day-to-day activities of associates within a defined group of restaurants or points-of-sale.
• Interviews job candidates and makes hiring, termination, and promotion decisions for associates within the unit.
• Promotes HMSHost as an employer of choice within the local community.
• Reads and understands financial and operational data to monitor progress towards unit goals.
• Manages the day-to-day activities of associates and ensures compliance with company policies.
• Uses judgment to resolve customer and associate questions and problems.
• Ensures compliance with all company adult beverage policies and procedures.
• Assigns work tasks, prepares schedules, and ensures all shifts are covered.
• Monitors compliance with wellness and safety procedures and reports any safety concerns.
• Places orders for individual units, receives goods, and processes invoices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience.
• Minimum of 4 years supervisory or lead experience in a Casual Dine restaurant or production kitchen.
• Ability to work shifts during various operating days and hours each week.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local sanitary, safety, and health standards.
