About the position

The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in the profitable operation of the restaurant. This position focuses on enhancing guest loyalty and sales through quality operations, personalized customer service, and effective staff development. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing restaurant staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and achieving budgeted profit levels while maintaining the company's vision and values.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager with the profitable operation of the restaurant.
  • Increase guest counts and sales by developing guest loyalty through quality of operation and personalized customer attention.
  • Partner with the General Manager to recruit, hire, train, develop, retain, supervise, appraise, discipline, terminate, and schedule employees.
  • Ensure proper training and development of non-exempt restaurant staff and trainers is completed and documented.
  • Manage the facility and equipment using preventive maintenance, energy conservation, repairs, and security measures.
  • Ensure safety, sanitation, and cleanliness requirements are met.
  • Achieve acceptable scores on health department and Quality Restaurant Evaluation audits.
  • Analyze results and develop or implement corrective action plans during shifts.
  • Attend management, regional, and company meetings; make presentations as requested.
  • Exhibit integrity in all actions, including secure transportation of daily bank deposits.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Valid driver's license and car insurance.
  • Certification through Management Training Program(s) is required after hire.
  • Serve Safe Food and/or Serve Safe Alcohol Certifications are a plus.
  • A minimum of one year of prior managerial or supervisory experience is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • A degree in Hospitality, Business, or Hotel/Restaurant Management or other related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
