About the position
The Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at Pueblo Academy of Arts is responsible for supporting the head coach in developing and implementing a successful basketball program for middle school students. This role emphasizes the importance of fostering a positive and inclusive environment that aligns with the district's mission of providing high-quality education and promoting the social and emotional well-being of students.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices and games.
- Support the development of student-athletes' skills and teamwork.
- Promote sportsmanship and a positive attitude among players.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ensure compliance with all CHSAA regulations and requirements.
Requirements
- Current teaching license or retired teacher status.
- Current Resume.
- CHSAA Online Coaches Test (Current Year).
- NFHS Concussion Certificate (or an in-person concussion course completion certificate).
Nice-to-haves
- Previous coaching experience and/or successful participation in athletics at the high school or collegiate level.
- Previous playing experience in the sport of Basketball.
