About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is responsible for overseeing the operations of the assigned restaurant, ensuring that sales and profit targets are met through effective management of staff and adherence to company policies. The AGM plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment, enhancing guest satisfaction, and implementing marketing strategies while maintaining compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Translate the company's Vision and Values into individual and team goals.
  • Align performance measures to support the achievement of business and restaurant goals.
  • Model, recognize, and reinforce desired behavior (individual and team); align rewards with these contributions.
  • Determine employee career goals and monitor/document performance utilizing the People First System.
  • Provide employees with support and opportunities to achieve their full potential.
  • Regularly solicit employee feedback on supervisor/manager performance and utilize the Employee Satisfaction Survey results.
  • Accountable for the successful resolution of employee concerns and guest issues, communicating major concerns to the Territory Director.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and customer service results.
  • Oversee employee schedules to balance work/life considerations with business needs.
  • Maintain inventory levels for food items in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Generate a constant stream of candidates for Assistant General Manager positions and develop Shift Managers and Assistant General Managers.
  • Objectively assess team performance relative to established goals and motivate the restaurant team.
  • Ensure compliance with productivity and service standards by retaining well-trained employees.
  • Serve as the key interface between the restaurant management team and Field Support personnel.
  • Lead the restaurant team through change and support new initiatives.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company-wide QSC, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Validate equipment maintenance and make decisions regarding repair or replacement.
  • Execute local marketing programs and resolve operational issues within the restaurant.
  • Attend required meetings and share input to move the business forward.
  • Ensure key deadlines are met through time management and delegation.
  • Anticipate, identify, and correct system breakdowns to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for onboarding, administration, and assignments.
  • Develop strategic plans and tactics aligned with business objectives.
  • Accountable for the financial performance of the restaurant and accurate financial data preparation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to develop and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
