About the position
The Assistant Group Leader supports and assists staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for the after-school enrichment and recreational program. This role involves collaborating with the group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment for youth participants, as well as assisting with various activities including sports, recreation, arts and crafts, and special events.
Responsibilities
- Assist the group leader with activities, including sports and recreation, educational, arts and craft, and special events.
- Collect attendance folder and other data.
- Distribute lunches and snacks and assist with clean-up.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program.
- Support activity instructor with lessons.
- Collaborate with group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with other youth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
