About the position

The Assistant Head Housekeeper plays a crucial role in leading the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization within the facility. This part-time position focuses on ensuring guests enjoy a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment through effective leadership and management of housekeeping operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff, providing guidance and support to foster a positive work environment.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures for efficient workflow.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special requests or events requiring additional cleaning services.
• Address guest inquiries or concerns regarding cleanliness promptly and professionally.
• Maintain records of housekeeping activities, including staff schedules, supply usage, and maintenance requests.

Requirements

• Proven experience in housekeeping management within the hospitality industry is required.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques and custodial practices is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of floor care methods and equipment maintenance.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to lead a team effectively while promoting a culture of teamwork and accountability.
• Previous experience in hotel settings is an advantage but not mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in cleaning for at least 1 year is preferred.
