About the position

Gracious Hospitality Management is a premier hospitality firm known for creating Michelin-starred and James Beard-nominated dining experiences. We are currently looking for a talented and experienced Assistant General Manager to lead our esteemed hospitality team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with team members to deliver exceptional service, fostering an atmosphere of respect, support, and elegance in the dining environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager as needed.
  • Train, schedule, and assign tasks to all Front of House team members, including sommeliers, servers, bartenders, barbacks, server assistants, runners, hosts, and reservationists.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and address their service needs.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to customer complaints.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance productivity.
  • Develop strategies to improve workplace efficiency and achieve goals.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and the General Manager.
  • Ensure staff adherence to restaurant policies, procedures, service standards, and operational protocols.
  • Maintain the physical facilities within the restaurant.
  • Implement policies and procedures for restaurant operations.

Requirements

  • Prior hospitality experience is preferred (5+ years).
  • Ability to lift heavy items (minimum 50 lbs).
  • Capability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods across multiple floors.
  • Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing may be required.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as necessary.
  • Must meet the legal age requirements to serve alcohol.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
  • Food handler's certification is required.
