About the position

The Assistant Hospitality Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficient service, safety, and cleanliness. This role involves managing staff, maintaining compliance with health regulations, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The Leader acts as a key point of communication between hourly employees and management, promoting a hospitable environment and adhering to the company's mission and core values.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee essential business duties related to the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
  • Ensure the shift runs efficiently and provide clear direction to hourly employees.
  • Communicate necessary business, employee, and guest updates to the management team during shift changes.
  • Perform standard management duties including opening and closing restaurants, completing employee checkouts, and cash handling.
  • Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food handling and building maintenance.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to company policies and standards.
  • Promote the mission and core values of the Range Cafe.
  • Monitor daily employee and guest activities to ensure liquor regulations are obeyed.
  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
  • Receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery to verify product quality and quantity.
  • Establish standards for personnel performance and hospitality.
  • Investigate and resolve all guest complaints regarding food, service, or accommodations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on internal and external hospitality.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of food handling, food safety, and all restaurant guidelines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Toast POS and US Foods inventory and ordering system.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Word.
