About the position

The Assistant House Manager at KidsPeace is responsible for supporting the overall functioning of the inpatient children's program unit. This role includes overseeing staff performance, ensuring the quality of the unit's programming, and managing emergencies. The Assistant House Manager works closely with the House Manager to maintain a safe and structured environment, provide training and supervision to staff, and facilitate treatment team meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the House Manager in maintaining a safe environment through effective programming and safety protocols.
  • Provide training, supervision, and support for direct reports through various meetings and on-site training.
  • Assess staff performance and coordinate the completion of daily notes and treatment documentation.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings to discuss client progress and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements for staff and oneself.
  • Perform crisis intervention and management techniques as necessary.
  • Distribute medication and ensure compliance with medication procedures.
  • Participate in the development and facilitation of therapeutic groups.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the House Manager in their absence.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in the mental health field with children is required.
  • At least 60 college credits or an Associate's Degree is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Competency in dealing with youth is essential.
  • Basic personal computer knowledge and skills are required.
