About the position

The Assistant in Training (AIT) position at Buckle is designed for individuals looking to advance their retail management skills. This role involves working closely with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to drive sales, recruit and train new team members, and provide leadership in the store. The AIT will also take on responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence, making it a key position for those aspiring to grow within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Recommend and help locate merchandise based on Guest needs.
  • Anticipate and fulfill Guest's needs by suggesting additional items.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and share that knowledge with the Team.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and policies.
  • Achieve personal sales goals set by Store Management.
  • Provide legendary service in key areas of the store.
  • Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
  • Investigate ways to expand Guest selection through inventory tools.
  • Build good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
  • Lead by example with high standards of customer service.
  • Recognize and communicate Guest Levels with the Team.
  • Welcome feedback from Manager to improve sales presentations.
  • Plan sales goals with Store Manager.
  • Demonstrate ownership of store's sales performance.
  • Assist in recruiting and training new Teammates.
  • Maintain a positive attitude to create a positive floor culture.
  • Participate in daily setup and training sessions.
  • Motivate Teammates to complete daily tasks set by Store Management.
  • Demonstrate leadership actions during segments.
  • Partner with Store Manager to pick store's education focus.
  • Assist Store Manager in recruitment of staffing needs.
  • Maintain contact list and add top talent consistently.
  • Ensure all New Hire paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of supplies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, and talk or hear.
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver 30lbs throughout the store.
