About the position

The Assistant in Training (AIT) position at Buckle is designed for individuals looking to advance their retail careers by working closely with the Store Manager and Leadership Team. This role involves developing sales strategies, recruiting new team members, and providing leadership within the store. The AIT will also take on responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence, focusing on training, motivating teammates, and ensuring exceptional guest service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Recommend and help locate merchandise based on guest needs.
  • Anticipate guest needs and suggest additional items.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and share it with the team.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and policies.
  • Achieve personal sales goals set by store management.
  • Provide service in key areas: sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
  • Fill out and use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily.
  • Meet performance standards in guest loyalty and business builders.
  • Build good guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
  • Lead by example with high standards of customer service.
  • Recognize and communicate guest levels with the team.
  • Coach and develop new teammates to meet sales standards.
  • Participate in daily setup and training sessions.
  • Motivate teammates to complete daily tasks set by management.
  • Assist in recruitment and training of store staff.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and execute store projects.
  • Handle operations including security risks and loss prevention guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related retail experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30lbs.
