About the position
The Assistant Indoor Track Coach at Hempfield High School is responsible for supporting the head coach in supervising training, practices, and instructional sessions for the indoor track team. The role focuses on fostering a positive team culture and ensuring a rewarding experience for student-athletes while fulfilling additional duties as assigned by the head coach.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all training, practices, and instructional sessions for the indoor track team.
- Monitor the performance and conduct of athletes.
- Assist in cultivating and maintaining a positive team culture.
- Provide a positive experience for student-athletes.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the head coach.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- High school varsity level coaching experience in the direct sport preferred.
- Evidence of effective leadership of a scholastic squad (varsity, JV, junior high) preferred.
- Ability to articulate a vision for building/enhancing the scholastic program.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required.
Nice-to-haves
- Pole vault experience preferred.
