About the position

The Assistant Interior Designer will support a female-led interior design and product design studio, contributing to high-end projects across Southern California. This part-time role combines remote and in-person work, requiring some driving. The ideal candidate is passionate about interior design and eager to work within a small, creative team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal designer in overseeing all aspects of the design and construction process from planning to implementation.
• Specify materials and prepare drawings and presentations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design intent is met.
• Oversee tradespeople involved in the project.
• Participate in the creation of entire homes, offices, and public spaces, as well as furniture, wallpaper, textiles, and light fixtures.

Requirements

• A degree or substantial coursework completed in interior design or architecture.
• 1+ year of professional experience as a residential interior designer or in a related role.
• Competency in Adobe Creative Suite and AutoCAD, and/or ArchiCAD, and/or Revit.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Ability to balance creativity with professionalism.
