About the position

The Assistant Interior Designer at Float Studio will support the interior design team in various capacities, contributing to the design process across all stages. This role involves hands-on tasks, vendor coordination, research, and the development of design documents and presentations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with a strong ability to communicate effectively within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide both ad-hoc and project specific support to the interior design team.
• Provide support in vendor coordination through pricing and specification requests, sample requests and product research.
• Research finishes, fixtures and materials, generating fixture and finish schedules and placeholder budgets based on existing templates.
• Upkeep material and resource library (digital & physical).
• Gain familiarity with the firm's brand guidelines, resources, and standards.
• Develop documents and presentations as needed for internal and client reviews (i.e. 3D modeling, FF&E presentation, development of interior elevations, floor plans, and furniture plans).
• Use Revit and related software to produce construction documents.
• Develop and review detail drawings for construction plans.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project success.

Requirements

• BA in Interior Design or related field
• 1-3 years relevant experience
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, and Bluebeam
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of standard office software (i.e. Google Suite, Slack, Zoom)
• Legal authorization to work in the US

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AI software (i.e. midjourney) a plus but not required
