About the position

The Assistant Local Production Manager at Rail Events Productions plays a crucial role in supporting the Local Production Manager and overseeing the technical and operational aspects of local events. This position involves managing staff, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols while creating a positive environment for both staff and guests during immersive theatrical experiences on a moving train.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Local Production Manager in overseeing all technical and operational aspects of local events.
  • Work with the Director of Production and REP Production Managers during pre-production and manage day-to-day operations during events.
  • Recruit local crew for load in, load out, and run crew of the local event.
  • Source and organize materials and services with local vendors and contractors.
  • Plan logistics and oversee load-out under the guidance of REP staff.
  • Supervise and manage local crew and staff across various departments including lighting, audio, and catering.
  • Serve as a liaison between Rail Events Productions and local railroad management.
  • Maintain a positive and rewarding environment for all staff and passengers during events.
  • Become knowledgeable about REP policies, procedures, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience with general or production or stage management and managing special events.
  • Ability to problem solve and lead a large team in a live show setting.
  • Ability to work independently with self-motivation and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to anticipate and resolve practical problems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to shared leadership and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Practical experience interpreting technical drawings.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy objects.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in theater production or event management.
