About the position

The Assistant Logistics Manager / Forklift Driver plays a crucial role in managing logistics operations, including order pulling, trailer loading, and inventory management. This position ensures efficient scheduling of deliveries and communication between shifts, while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Pull orders and load trailers according to the shipping schedule.
• Create shipping paperwork and review loaded trailers as needed.
• Conduct cycle counts on inventory as needed or requested.
• Review the proposed top-up watchlist daily and prioritize and approve inventory top-ups as needed.
• Communicate with necessary employees to avoid problems between shift changes.
• Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures and good housekeeping.
• Coordinate with customers for delivery times and pickups as necessary.
• Schedule daily deliveries in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
• Schedule out of state LTL & truckload deliveries as necessary.
• Print daily load schedule and communicate special circumstances with loader/checkers and drivers.
• Assist drivers with delivery address issues as needed.
• Coordinate with customers and drivers about quality returns and paperwork.
• Coordinate with offsite warehouse about daily outbound loads, emergency same day shipments, cycle counts, quality returns/issues, outsource inbounds to warehouse, and returns to Compass.

Requirements

• Experience in logistics or supply chain management.
• Proficiency in using forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes.
