An automotive manufacturer in Morristown, TN is seeking a qualified Assistant Logistics Manager to join their team. As an Assistant Logistics Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing logistics operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in supervising a logistics team and will be responsible for ensuring that all logistics activities align with the company's operational goals. In this role, you will be responsible for training Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and Assistant Staff in all logistics duties. You will support and develop the annual operating plan for the department, which includes capital and expense budget requirements. Accountability to the operating plan and financial commitments is essential. You will oversee all planning activities, including Kanban cycles, to ensure that there are no stockouts on production lines and to prevent customer short shipments. Additionally, you will monitor production output against the schedule and make necessary adjustments to compensate for any discrepancies. Monitoring the budget and recording expenses for key performance indicators (KPIs) while pursuing cost objectives will also be part of your responsibilities. You will coordinate inbound and outbound traffic and maintain the required documentation to ensure smooth logistics operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in a logistics supervisory role
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong skills in employee development and logistics control
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing and materials management
