About the position

The Assistant Maintenance Manager at Hilton Garden Inn Patriot Place is responsible for leading the maintenance team in ensuring the hotel property is safe, functional, and well-maintained for both associates and guests. This role involves overseeing general maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine preventative maintenance while adhering to company and brand standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned locations, including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, basic carpentry, building systems, and other hotel equipment as needed.
  • Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repair.
  • Plan repair work using blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
  • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (examples: drywall, painting, doors, locks, building fixtures).
  • Perform routine maintenance of building systems.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance programs, following established standards and guidelines.
  • Adhere to all Colwen and brand standards.
  • Work with supervisor to identify and complete all technical projects.
  • Respond timely to all work orders.
  • Clean and assist with upkeep of facility.
  • Assist with Houseperson duties as needed.
  • Maintain building exterior not serviced by contractor (e.g. snow removal, lawn care, painting).
  • Service hotel pool to include adjusting chemical levels and cleaning filters (not all inclusive).
  • Complete maintenance logs as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel engineering experience preferred.
  • Strong leader of people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment/refrigeration preferred.
  • Working knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems.
  • Reliable with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • 1-2 years of management experience.
  • Familiar with common computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Must be willing to work rotational work schedule, including weekends and holidays (odd hours).
