About the position

As an Assistant Manager for Airport Operations Certification at the Port of Seattle, you will oversee the Airport Operations Specialist team and assist in managing the FAR regulated Part 139 Airport Certification Program. This role involves supervising Airfield Operations Specialists and Airport Duty Managers, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, addressing stakeholder complaints, and serving as a subject matter expert in airport certification. You will also assist in training design and implementation, manage change, and coordinate special airfield programs related to regulatory compliance and emergency operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Airport Operations Specialist team and assist in managing the FAR regulated Part 139 Airport Certification Program.
  • Oversee Airfield Operations Specialists and Airport Duty Managers regarding airport certification and FAA compliance.
  • Address stakeholder complaints regarding airfield operations and resolve grievances and personnel disputes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the FAR Part 139 Program and assist with compliance-related issues.
  • Assist the Airport Certification Manager with training design and implementation for front-line employees.
  • Support and coordinate special airfield-based programs and annual stakeholder meetings related to airport emergencies and regulatory compliance.
  • Schedule call-in personnel for airfield facility operations.
  • Investigate airfield accidents/incidents and follow up on inquiries from stakeholders and the FAA.
  • Recommend policy and procedure changes to guidance and auditing regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Two years of operations or maintenance experience at commercial service airports.
  • Two years of supervisory/lead/mentor experience, including leading a project or process.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License or ability to obtain one.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management.
  • AAAE Certified Member certification.
  • AAAE ACE Operations certification.
  • FAA Private Pilot License.

  • Competitive salary range between $110,234.00 and $149,140.00 based on experience and skills.
