About the position

The Assistant Manager, Datacenter and Network Architect at Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is responsible for designing and implementing information systems that support the IT infrastructure. This role focuses on defining the next generation architecture of datacenters and networks, leading technology research, and ensuring seamless integration of solutions within the IT ecosystem. The position requires collaboration with various teams and a strong knowledge of datacenter and network design.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate optimal datacenters and server rooms.
  • Participate in ongoing new datacenter and server room design projects.
  • Coordinate datacenter and network services for new research labs and changes.
  • Monitor datacenter operations and environmental controls to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Identify and manage the current status of assets related to datacenters and networks.
  • Utilize datacenter and network management best practices and tools to investigate and resolve performance issues.
  • Establish an optimal management process for datacenter and network services.
  • Define and document architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for datacenter and network solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions into the overall IT ecosystem.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in datacenter and network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD in Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in datacenter and network administration.
  • Experience in participating in and promoting new datacenter construction projects.
  • Proficiency in networking topologies, setup, and testing high-speed networks commonly used in data center environments.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, review information to develop and evaluate options, and propose solutions.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer support or quality assurance.
