About the position

The Assistant Manager for the Day Program at Momentum WORK, Inc. is responsible for overseeing activities and services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves managing program operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing support to staff and program participants. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, including caregivers and community members, to enhance the quality of services provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the oversight of the development and implementation of services for the Day Services Program.
  • Communicate frequently with program staff, identify training needs, and provide training as necessary.
  • Oversee the medication system for program participants, including checking in medications and maintaining records.
  • Write and review SIRs for the program and ensure timely submission.
  • Update Day Program activities summaries and goals on Case Magic.
  • Attend meetings with program participants, DSPs, and agency meetings as needed.
  • Assist in meeting regulations in alignment with R D, CCL, and TCRC audits/reviews.
  • Supervise activities and group outings, providing direct support as necessary.
  • Use crisis intervention techniques in emergency situations.
  • Review and oversee ID notes and documentation generated from staff.
  • Ensure daily compliance with established guidelines and report deficiencies.
  • Conduct program quality assurance checklists.
  • Schedule program transportation as needed.
  • Assist Program Managers with maintenance issues and IT support.
  • Assist with program-related purchases and prepare purchase orders.
  • File reports for work-related injuries for worker's compensation.
  • Attend agency meetings and in-service trainings as required.
  • Create daily activity schedules and maintain inventory of iPads.
  • Prepare safety drills and assist with monthly safety paperwork.
  • Ensure common areas are tidy and organized at the end of each day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education, psychology, social services, or related field.
  • Two years of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in individual or group settings.
  • One year of increasingly responsible administrative or supervisory experience.
  • Proven ability to work with and motivate staff members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding persons served and related information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid CA Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Valid certification in CPR/First Aid.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with crisis intervention techniques.
  • Familiarity with community care licensing regulations.
