About the position

LA Concrete Works, an established leader in architectural hardscape and decorative concrete, is seeking an Assistant Manager of Sales Operations for the Decorative Concrete division. This role involves managing day-to-day sales, client management, and operations, while also supporting the mainline concrete business as needed. The Assistant Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and driving new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact with incoming prospective clients for decorative concrete via phone, email, Yelp, and online websites.
  • Gather information, screen for qualified leads, educate clients on possible solutions, generate client interest, and secure appointments for onsite consultations.
  • Assist field manager in select onsite job consultations with prospective clients.
  • Cultivate, build, and manage relationships with prospective and current clients, resulting in new and incremental sales.
  • Identify new sources for potential qualified leads and proactively outreach to generate new business opportunities.
  • Track all communications with prospective clients and monitor progress to move them from inquiry to official bid.
  • Monitor the progress of outstanding bids and follow up with customers to convert bids to committed jobs.
  • Manage the calendar and scheduling for the decorative team, including onsite consultations and communication with clients.
  • Identify the need for change orders and submit them to clients for approval.
  • Manage client concerns and expectations with guidance from the manager.
  • Communicate proactively with internal team members and external clients to keep them informed of job updates.
  • Achieve monthly sales goals for bookings and billings for the decorative division.
  • Create and maintain an integrated database of clients with contact information.
  • Complete monthly and weekly reports showing the progress and performance of the decorative division.
  • Gather and prepare job start documents for the field once contracts are signed.
  • Build knowledge of the decorative concrete business through site visits and discussions.
  • Assist with decorative marketing efforts, including social media and email marketing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a sales and operations role.
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience with a CRM online system for sales and marketing (e.g., Hubspot) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing (i.e., social media, website) is a plus.
  • Great customer service skills and ability to communicate well with clients and co-workers.
  • Proven ability to generate new sales and convert prospective clients to contracts.
  • Ability to take initiative and act confidently.
  • Proactive in identifying key issues and challenges.
  • Results-oriented and accountable for achieving key performance metrics.
  • Fast learner with a genuine interest in learning the concrete business.
