Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees to meet customer needs.
  • Creates a positive atmosphere of friendliness and fun through teamwork.
  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, treating customers as the most important people in the store.
  • Encourages employees to greet and assist customers, enhancing their shopping experience.
  • Handles employee issues and coordinates disciplinary procedures when necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with store accounting procedures and reports potential problems.
  • Oversees building and ground maintenance, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
  • Trains employees on safety procedures to provide a safe work environment.
  • Evaluates employee performance and recommends personnel actions such as promotions or dismissals.
  • Directs the ordering of merchandise and coordinates compliance with established policies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • One year or more of retail experience, including duties of an Assistant Manager.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
