About the position

The Assistant Manager for Health Wellness Home at Hy-Vee is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role emphasizes creating a friendly atmosphere, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining store standards. The Assistant Manager will also oversee employee training, handle disciplinary procedures, and ensure compliance with store policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees.
• Ensures that customer needs are met with prompt and courteous service.
• Creates a positive atmosphere through flexibility and teamwork.
• Encourages employees to engage with customers and provide excellent service.
• Handles employee issues and coordinates disciplinary procedures when necessary.
• Oversees proper training and evaluates employee performance.
• Ensures compliance with store accounting procedures and reports potential problems.
• Maintains store sanitation and cleanliness according to company guidelines.
• Directs the ordering of merchandise and ensures product quality.
• Trains and enforces safety procedures to provide a safe work environment.
• Assists with replenishing shelf product and designing displays.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• One year or more of retail experience, including duties of an Assistant Manager.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
