About the position
The Assistant Manager - Hospitality at Sheetz is responsible for ensuring a top-tier customer experience by overseeing customer service procedures and managing day-to-day operations in the absence of the Store Manager. This role involves leadership in various aspects of store operations, including inventory management, customer service, and compliance with company standards, all while fostering a positive work environment for staff.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in recruitment, selection, training, and performance management of store staff.
- Handle customer questions, complaints, and concerns effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Sheetz policies, procedures, and programs among staff.
- Oversee timely customer transactions and maintain cleanliness standards in the store.
- Check in on end-of-day tasks to ensure they are completed.
- Manage inventory by ensuring proper placement, pricing, and re-filling of merchandise.
- Lead profit management processes including shrink indicators, stock audits, and vendor management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One year of experience supervising others in a fast food, restaurant, retail, or convenience operation preferred.
- Successful completion of certification testing as needed.
- ServeSafe certification or any other legally required certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Two-year degree in a business-related field preferred.
