About the position

As an Assistant Merchandise and Inventory Manager at Nordstrom, you will play a crucial role in supporting the department manager and leading your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This position involves mentoring team members, managing inventory, and ensuring the department is well-stocked and visually appealing. You will also be responsible for training employees on technology and inventory management practices, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the department manager to recruit, hire, and train employees.
  • Develop and motivate team members to achieve their best performance.
  • Educate employees on technology that enhances customer experience.
  • Maintain a regular floor presence to engage with customers and team members.
  • Ensure the department is 'runway ready' through effective stocking and merchandising.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory management and educate staff on shrinkage and unit variance.
  • Support store operations by setting up special events and organizing back rooms.

Requirements

  • Proven success in current role with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with store and regional managers.
  • Excellent communication and strong team-building skills.
  • Talent for influencing others and leading change effectively.
  • Strong organizational, delegation, and follow-through skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
