About the position

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, INC. is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Naples Park location. This full-time position is crucial in supporting our mission to serve individuals with disabilities and disadvantages by providing them with life-changing opportunities to achieve independence. The Assistant Manager will work under the general guidance of the Store Manager and will be responsible for achieving revenue, expense, and profit objectives as outlined in the store's budget. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, staff training, and adherence to company policies and procedures. The Assistant Manager will assist in training staff to meet production goals, maintain merchandise standards, and ensure customer service expectations are met. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of business acumen, interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities necessary to meet the performance standards for the store. This position may require working long hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as part of the job responsibilities. The Assistant Manager will also be expected to supervise and train staff in various areas, including production, merchandising, checkout, and customer service, while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve revenue, expense, and profit objectives as outlined in the store's budget.
  • Train staff to comply with production goals, merchandise standards, and customer service expectations.
  • Ensure full adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and train staff in production, merchandising, checkout, and customer service.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to the team.
  • Work long hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Two years of retail sales experience required.
  • One year of experience in a management/supervisory capacity required.
  • Ability to learn and use point of sale and donation systems, office computer, and telephone.
  • Skills to work in stressful conditions and use good judgment, patience, and understanding.
  • Familiarity with business-related mathematics.
